for everybody who loves clothes but does not take trends so serious

Now that we mention Marilyn…

I’ve been in love with Marilyn Monroe for quite a long time now, and after reading so many times that she was so curvaceous (which you can be even if you’re petite), and compared to the majority of runway models she would have been almost plus size… well, you know what I’m talking about, I still think there is a very wrong idea about her body, meaning her size.

Every Monroe fan that has actually seen some of her private clothes, like I had the incredible opportunity to do, knows she was not tall, or big at all (last two things you can read in almost every decent biography). Of course there was a period of time in her life where she gained like 9kg of weight and therefore needed another size (if you have seen her in her last movie with Clark Gable you will see that), but her normal weight since her late teens, was not more than 54 kg.

She had no big bone structure, and the skirts and trousers I’ve been 15cm away from in that exhibition in Emden, Germany last year, where not more than 2 sizes more than mine. So, not bigger than a spanish size 38!! That would be a 36 in Germany, and no more than a 2-4 in the states, a 6 if! Why do I tell you this? Is size that important to me? No, it is NOT, but do you agree that it’s funny so many people do think that she was not slim?

  1. She was a normal girl! It is so funny though that she is considered a “no thin” girl. She was prettier than most of models nowdays,
    Great article 😉
