A bit of color with Marilyn Monroe to finish my day.

In ART, Iconic Woman on November 28, 2013 at 6:56 pm

One of the last pictures ever taken of her, that shows her imperfection and unique personality. It’s not a picture from THE Last Setting, that was the incredible work between Marilyn and photographer Bert Stern, who was going to photograph her for VOGUE! Although I do have a very big and heavy book with pretty much every picture Bert Stern and Marilyn produced during those three days of work, I never could see what photos VOGUE actually did choose. I only know about the last photo they used for the end of the eight pages they gave Marilyn on that issue, I think it was August 1962.

Thanks to Drops Of Jupiter for the picture.

Vogue Germany, photos of Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg by Andrew Birkin.

In ART, Iconic Woman on November 27, 2013 at 2:04 pm

Andrew Birkin, mostly known as a film director but also for being the brother of Jane Birkin, took a lot of pictures of his sister by the time she was working with Serge Gainsbourg for the first time. The two where working in Slogan, and Jane told her brother that her partenaire Serge was “arrogant and horrible…”. But of course everything changed, she came to know Serge and the two became one of the most (if not the most famous) known couples ever in France. Thanks VOGUE Germany for the few pictures you show us this December of Andrew Birkin’s work.

My new heels by VIRUS, can’t wait wearing them for you!

In Uncategorized on November 26, 2013 at 7:38 pm

Yes, they have this used look that I adore, I need a pair of shoes that doesn’t look too new, just casual. Some shoes look even better after wearing them for some time. But casual does not mean less feminine or chic. I like that mix between strong, ladylike, comfortable and elegant. Here they are, I know It’s not the “fashion blog picture” you would expect, but this is not called “I always look wonderful”. Wish you a good evening!

Cher wearing jeans and black

In Iconic Woman, Wonderful Looks&Outfits on November 24, 2013 at 7:38 pm

My intention was to post about wearing high waist classic jeans, because it’s my favourite type of denim pants. But no matter if the black item is a sweater, a tank top, a t-shirt, a classic black shirt or something else, I think it’s one of the best choices you can make if you just want to keep it simple, but not less sexy and elegant.

It’s the attitude that make jeans look chic on women, and you don’t even need high heels to finish the look. I love making some noise with my shoes sometimes, but it’s not necessary if you pick your red lipstick and mascara (I mean not just red, but your red). I also have a personal thing with this photo, Cher’s hair is just like my mother’s back in the 70s when this picture was made by Jeff Goldblum. Thanks Jeff, thanks Cher.

Some time ago I bought that magazine with a quick interview with Kate Moss. This look pretty much what her answer to the question “what would you wear for a first date” was. Denim and black simple sexy top. Yeah!!!

Thank you Drops of Jupiter for the photo.

Pharrell Williams & Cara Delavigne for Glamour Germany

In ART, Iconic Woman on November 21, 2013 at 10:04 am

First thought after opening the Glamour November 2013 (Germany) magazine yesterday: Who the hell had the idea of putting those two together??

Second thought, ok, Cara loves singing. I already did share my opinion about Cara singing a few months ago, and I still believe she has a very special and natural voice that sounds like I expected her to sound like. So everything is fine with that, because who produces more songs than Pharrell Williams in this industry at the moment? Just google him, and you’ll read that already in 2003, over 43% of music we could listen to on the radio, was produced by this lovely guy at least in the USA. So the music is something they have in common, and I really do think he is a lovely guy, after I read that he chose Cara Delavigne himself for this shooting.

They also appeared in other printed pages, but thanks to Glamour I discovered that 15 years ago Pharrell discovered Gucci and Prada (yes, he says that Kelis showed him those) and that those brands saved him from a life just in Ralph-Lauren poloshirts!! Well Pharrell, what I liked most about this whole article, wasn’t the photos (I think they could have done even better with faces like yours and Cara’s), it actually was that you seem to be so much into your work and what you’re passionate about, that somebody else had to show you Gucci. Love people who are successful just doing “their thing”, without wasting energy all over the place with something like Gucci (nothing against the brand, don’t get me wrong). I follow you on twitter Pharrell, so it’s not a secret that I like you and what you do.

Picture from ShopStyle Deutschland, thank you very much.

Sunset Boulevard and Vintage 50s dress!!

In Wonderful Looks&Outfits on November 20, 2013 at 10:46 am

There is this musical Sunset Boulevard here in Braunschweig, and guess what, they needed another dancer…and that’s me. It has been me since last summer, but I just did not tell you, don’t ask me why. But this original dress from the 50s you really need to see. I’m sorry, but in there it’s the best photo I coud get, but I like it, shows the atmosphere backstage. The hair, yes, it’s a wig! The dress feels amazing, you have to move to the dress to be able to wear it properly.

Not in the fashion mood at all?? Pick a skirt!

In Wonderful Looks&Outfits on November 20, 2013 at 10:03 am

I really did not feel the fashion yesterday, but I love my new skirt, one more skirt I just had to try on and get out of the boutique again without changing. If it feels like I already had it on, than it’s for me, it’s strange how that always happens to me at Anziehend!. It’s second-hand, HALLHUBER. The oversize cardigan is Tara Jarmon, got it years ago.

It’s not tweed, but it’s Stefanel indeed!!!

In Wonderful Looks&Outfits on November 10, 2013 at 8:29 pm

I’m so glad the “wordpress team” helped me to solve my little problem here, I can post normally again!!

The truth is, I’ve been so busy with work, learning so much new stuff every day and having to re-organise my life arround my new job, my other obsessions and my little family that I also had to re-think my blog of course…not easy, but an exciting and happy process indeed.

And the Stefanel wool skirt?? Yes, that’s the fashion excuse, so excuse me but it is wonderful. I’m really happy to be here again, thank you followers and readers for waiting!!

Of course the las photo is also an excuse of mine, just to show you the colors I’ve been wearing this Fall. I took the photo just the afternoon I found the wool skirt I’m showing you here. Thanks so much for waiting for me, solving this “posting problem” has been tough, but necessary.

Tweed Dreams!!! See you tomorrow.

In Famous Designers, Wonderful Looks&Outfits on November 10, 2013 at 8:16 pm

Love tweed, we actually work with tweed every day at Japlongaplong!, if you have a great fabric even kids can wear tweed trousers and they last forever. I’ve always loved that material, and my tweed dream is this coat. Now it’s more in than ever, I know, but that’s not why I wear it. Also my tweed skirt by Stefanel is a classic, stick by what you love.

The coat is from my fav. boutique Anziehend!, but not new, so I don’t know the brand, it’s a shame. The denim skirt is ForAllMankind. The hat is second-hand too.
