Vintage & Vanessa, J’adore!

In Iconic Woman on March 29, 2013 at 8:32 pm

Vanessa Paradis Vanessa Paradis attends the Chanel Haute Couture fashion show, held at the Espace Cambon, Paris.

Is it possible to find a woman with more natural elegance and casual chic than Vanessa Paradis?

I’ve always been a huge fan of her. Every time you see a picture of her being on a special event no matter where, she is one of my favourite best dressed. She picks classic but original dresses, she has that vintage glitter look but never too much. It’s rare to see this sweet and charming image of hers matching her cool and relaxed attitude.

Now we have the pleasure of seeing her on the H&M Concious Collection campaign (Watch VIDEO).  I loved to hear is that she actually invites people to “let go” of all their old clothes before buying something new from the collection. She personally prefers vintage and big part of her wardrobe happens to be “not new”. That exactly  is what I’m for, that’s why I have my second-hand boutique I visit on my links.

I think at least half of the clothes you can see here (if not more) are vintage and second-hand. That does not mean I don’t enjoy shopping new clothes of course I do, but it’s not a must for me! I posted the photos because I love playing with the different textures and colours already in the closed, it inspires my looks.

Striped T-shirt and Bensimon sneakers for spring!

In Wonderful Looks&Outfits on March 28, 2013 at 1:22 pm

Here two classics that I love, the most simple Bensimon sneakers and a basic but well made cotton striped T-shirt. It’s super casual but very classy, timeless in a way but always to reinvent with different accessoires, or types of jeans…well, the rest is up to you! Spring, I’m waitnig.

My T-shirt is LIZ CLAIBORNE, the BENSIMON sneakers already are like a part of me, you can wash them together with your jeans and the cotton still looks perfect. Bensimon’s are not called “the most affordable luxury shoes in the world” for nothing, and Brigitte Bardot knew it!

Think like spring! NO more wool sweaters, I promise!!

In Wonderful Looks&Outfits on March 27, 2013 at 1:40 pm

I promise I’ll just post spring and more…let’s say light looks from now on, no matter what the weather is. I try to think like spring. This is the goodbye winter look, and nothing better than my brown “Pocahontas like” leather skirt, and the hand knitted sweater from my father.

If you like the tights, it’s a cotton and wool mix, “soft merino” from FALKE.

Playdate with my closed, ties and glitter…

In Wonderful Looks&Outfits on March 26, 2013 at 3:32 pm

I love mixing, a little glitter, special little clothes and of course ties, like I told you on my last post. Here a few of my favourite ties, all from my grandpa!

Vest is second-hand, transparent shirt is TATOO,  two ties are TREVIRA and the one I’m wearing is First Class SIR, green tank top under is H&M, beige vest with pailletes is HALLHUBER.

Ties, always IN, still marvelous trend

In Iconic Woman on March 26, 2013 at 11:59 am

One of my most successful looks till today, is the one I had that Stefanel skirt on with shirt and a tie that belonged to my grandpa. Does it ring any bells? I love ties, and the very polite masculine look on women. I say polite because it actually is polite and proper for men to wear a suit, shirt ant tie.

But it happened, Coco Chanel reinvented it for herself (and luckily for all of us). In fact it’s thanks to her we can wear pants, blazers, shirt’s and ties like we do today. It’s a masculine timeless outfit, but to me it’s much more interesting what it does to women’s looks and styles.

White, simple, mixing stripes and dots just like that, clean and sexy, beautiful Diane Keaton… And the most important thing about ties, I like them to be worn and not properly. If you go “ties”, than I love doing it well or change it completely going oversize like Jane Birkin on that picture, or replacing the tie for a scarf but sticking to a windsor not (you’ll need the perfect scarf for it). For me there is no half way, I’m a purist again. The look can have enough casual and humour to it, so I’d rather let ties be what they are, not hang loose without a real not. It’s a personal obsession.

Diane’s photo from great fashion blog “LA GARCONNE”, really recommend it to everyone who wants to know where certain trends come from, specially “masculine feminine” history of fashion. I’ll include La Garconne to my blogroll, so you can enjoyit like I do.

The chanel jacket, never out, always in.

In ART on March 24, 2013 at 6:39 pm

Found that wonderful video about the Chanel Jacket at Horstson, one of my favourite blogs in Germany.

Classic peaces are never out, that’s why I’m for great basics you can combine with everything all the time.

Vintage Coat, for the coldest march in 60 years.

In Wonderful Looks&Outfits on March 24, 2013 at 6:21 pm

This coat is my best one, my mother bought it in the early 70s in Germany. The black wool dress you already know it, it’s Boss Orange, the scarf is always with me, like the warm boots.Bild

I was not amused, needing that coat at the end of march, but what else can I do? Wait until it betters, and I can wear my sweaters, t-shirts, jeans, whatever but without the coat.

So the thing is, keeping it up, don’t forget your skin care and a little mascara. With mascara it doesn’t show that much that the cold makes you sleepy.

A party, colors and patterns…

In Uncategorized on March 23, 2013 at 4:32 pm

silk skarf 041 silk skarf 042 silk skarf 060 ??????????

It was a party, and I enjoyed my tunica, it’s from HEINE. The rest just something I saw and liked, and the wine had that beautiful color I love on the wine, not on my clothes but it’s still wonderful.
